Correspondence.

To the Editor op the Nelson Evening Mail. Sir — A good deal of uncertainty is felfc by business people having small general shops, as to the effect of the new Act on the sale of home-made wines. It has been asserted that the owner of a shop, selling a bottle of cherry wine (not having a license to do so), may be informed against and subjected to a heavy fine. If this be true it is a matter of no small moment that the truth should be /made publio, or we may find some poor •widow, or decrepid aged shopkeeper r brought to absolute ruin by the operation of a. new and tyrranical law, of the existence of which he was utterly ignorant. Hopiug to receive information from some ot* your law informed correspondents, I am, etc., Enquirer.
