The steamer Gothenburg arrived from Weiiington this afternoon, having on board the Suez mail. The papers came to hand too late for our present issue. All hope of an outward mail this month via Pauama, may now be given up, as the Tararua had not arrived at the Bluff up to the time of our going to press. Last evening the Rev. J. Crump delivered a pleasing and instructive lecture at the Wesleyan Church, on the Life of the Rev. W. J. Shrewsbury, in the course of which he gave some very interesting information as to the state of the negroes in the West Indies, prior to their emancipation. There was a very fair attendance.
