THE MOUTERE ROAD.

To the Editor of the Nelson Evening Mail. Sift—Will you allow me to avail myself of your columnfe to difect the attention of the Moutere Road Board to the dangerous condition of the many dead trees now standing on both sides of the road, espe- * cially between Mr Robert Talbot's and Mr Hewitson's. These trees are of course always, liable to fall upon travellers, and under the influence of high wiuds, «uch as we bave'experienced lately, are especially dangerous. I trust therefore— -prevention being better than cure—that the Board will lose no time in procuring their removal, before an accident occurs such as befel the late Mr Powell, of the Upper'Moutere, on the same road, through the neglected state of the . bridge where he met with his death., I am, &c, - . ' Viator. Decembei* 1. - -
