THE SUEZ MAIL,
BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.
The English Mail via Suez, by the A. S. N. Company's steamer Alexandra, Captain Brown, arrived at Glenelg, ou Monday night, 3rd August, at halfpast 7, after a good trip of 93£ hours. The Alexandria and Avoca encountered severe gale on upward passage. The Avoca lost 2 boats, and 26 sheep.
The ship G-eelong, Captain Skottowe, reached the Sound at half-past 5 on the 13th July; and left Galle at 1 p.m. on the 15th. Captain Stackhouse in charge of the Mail, Mr Leversage purser. Passenger for Sydney, Major Blackall, new Governor of Queensland.
Severe gales have swept the coast of Western Australia.
The schooner Emily has been wrecked, and eight lives were lost.
A despatch from Downing- street proposes to increase the salary of the Governor of Western Australia £2,500.
