Correspondence.
To the Editor of ths Nelson Evening Mail. Sir, — In reference to an extracted jparagragh which appeared in your issue of Friday tast, relative to English Nonconformists, permit me as a member of that body for nearly thirty years, to inform your readers that their ministers never subscribe to any articles, and that their female members are never excluded from any of their meetings. I have been present at hundreds of church meetings, both in the old country in different parts, and also in Victoria, but was never present at a church meeting anywhere when female members were not admitted, their presence is always cordially welcomed, their vote nlways considered of equal importance with the male members and their cooperation was especially valued. In one church with which I was connected for some six years, numbering over two hundred members, no measure was carried without the unanimous vote of the church meeting, one member, either male or female, persisting in opposition, would have been sufficient to prevent its passing. Invariably, however, the minority gave way, and those church meetings were truly cordial, Christian, and happy. I am, &c, Henry Dbew. [The extract "alluded to was clipped from an English journal.— E.E.M.]
