We find this announcement in the Sydney Herald : — ' It will be remembered that in the month of July, 1863, the Mudge9 mail w«.s robbed of a very large amount of notes of the various banks of Sydney and Melbourne, which were being transmitted from their branches to the head office of the Australian Joint Stock Bank iv Sydney. This bank sued the Oriental Bank ibrpaiment of its notes, offering to indemnify that institution against loss for siach of its notes as might be afterwards presented for paymeut. A verdict was returned in favor of the Australiau Joint Stock Bank, against which verdict the Oriental Bank appealed to the Privy Couuci). We understand that the Oriental Bank has now abandoned snch appeal.' During the last week or two a deadly feud has raged between the John Bull and the Saturday Review.
