By favor we extract the following news from a letter written by Mr Corcoran, of the Hibernia Hotel, who left Westport a few weeks ago for the Maryborough diggings. He says — The diggings are uo good whatsoever, as there is very little gold getting. There are hundreds from the West Coast who would be ouly too glad to come back if they had meaus to do so. And those who have money are clearing out as fast as they can get away. You will yet see more diggers this season on the West Coast than there ever has been. The diggers have been forced by starvation to rush the stores for rations, and the greatest distress prevails. — Westport Evening Star.
