The Nelson Evening Mail. SATURDAY, MARCH 7, 1868.

TELEGf-BAPHIC INTELLIGENCE.

Wellington, March 7, 11.20 a.m. The Governor yesterday received dispatches from Sydney, stating that the Prince will not arrive in Auckland until late iu April. His Excelleucy has, therefore, postponed his intended departure for Auckland on Monday next. A disgraceful scene has taken place in the General Assembly at Sydney. Whilst the Premier, Mr.Parkes, was speaking, he was interrupted, bat was ruled by the Speaker to be in order. Mr Macpherson disputed the ruling, and a 'scene' ensued. Amidst cries of * shame, shame, chair, chair,' he said that he would not be deprived of his rights by the paltry hangers-on of a moribund Government. The word 'blackguard' was uttered, when Mr Lee crossed the house and struck Mr Macpherson in the face, who, however, did uot return the blow, but weut out, and having bought a horsewhip, flogged Mr Lee iu the library. A general meie'e followed, blows were exchanged, the police seut for, and the Attorney General ordered to prosecute both offenders.

The Wanganui Times says : — We are told on reliable authority, that his Honor Judge Johnston has positively refused to hold circuit sittings of the Supreme Court in Wauganui. Mr Stafford, kept faith with the deputation that waited on him some months ago to urge the necessity of com-, pliance with the prayer o: the petition then presented on the subject. We are told that he eventually ordered sittings of the Court to be held here, but as the matter rests with Judge Johnstou, if he refuses to comply there is an end of it until some further action is taken iu the matter. Meautirae, what of the prisoners already awaiting trial — are they to be sent to Wellington ? They have been committed for trial at Wauguuui, and the Cuurt must be moved to change the the venue, or release the accused. The quarrel is a pretty one as it stands.
