RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Thursday, Feb. 6. (Before J. Poynter, Esq., R.M.) George Brown was charged with having last night committed a violent assault upon his wife, at his residence iv Toi-Toi Valley, by striking her upon the head with au iron saucepan. As it appeared from the represfn tation of Mr. Inspector Shallcrass, that Mrs Brown was under medical treatment, and was not out of danger, the further hearing of the case was postponed until 11 o'clock to-morrow morning.
