The way to make money on the turf is to take a spade, put it into a donkey-cart, and drive the donkey to the nearest common. Dig up a patch, say ten feet square; take it home and hang it up topsy-turvy. When dry, sell it for what it will fetch. !l?his is an infalliable method for making money on the turf, and, what more, it's something out of the common. Never set yourself up for a musician just because you have got a drum in your ear ; nor believe you are cut out for a school teacher merely because you have a pupil in your eye. What roof covers the most noisy tenant? The roof of the mouth.
