THE RAILWAY.

To the Editor of the Nelson Evening Mail. Sm — There seems to me to be a rather voluminous correspondence goiDg on in the various papers concerning .the much vexed question of a railway to the West Coast. Surely, Mr. Editor this must concern the public at large, and I think they ought to have some voice in the matter. Hole-and-corner arrangements are always objectionable, and if the progenitor of the scheme were to call a public meeting instead of indulging in inuendoes, we might then be able perhaps to learn who he is, whence he comes, and what his intentions are. » Yours, etc., Rail.
