The Nelson Evening Mail. SATURDAY; MARCH 23, 1867.

-The Bazaar in behalf of the funds of Christ Church continues to be numerously attended, and doubtless will bo till its close to-night. Last evening between the hours of 7 and 9 the rush vva3 so o\'erpoAvering that but for the good humor of the crowd, the greatest disorder would have ensued, over 1500 people were admitted iu the course of the evening, Mr. Acton Adams has wished to apologise, through our columns, for any rudeness he may have seemed to he. guilty of whilst taking the tickets and money, which must be attributed to the unexpected and unprecedented nature of the circumstances. By admitting into both galleries and by filling the Hall, from time to time, at two door<? by detachments of tens aud twenties, it wns attempted to admit as many as possible ; but densely packed as the building was it was impossible to admit all, aud a great many were unavoidably sent away. Mr. Acton Adams desires to thank Sergeant-Major Edwards, Sergeant !Na?h, and Mr. J. Hounsell for the energetic assistance they rendered at the doors. Over £50 was taken at the dooi s yesterday. Up to the time of our going to press the receipts at the doors had beeu about £60, and at least 2500 people had been admitted. It is believed that the total proceeds of the Bazaar will amount to £500.
