The Southern Cross of the 10th inst. says, the weather on Saturday was warmer than we have felt it here this summer. Mr. Peacock, optician, who keeps a record of the. temperature, informs us that the thermometer was 89 deg. in a place completely shaded. la the sun, but exposed to the JN\E. breeze in the afternoon, the thermometer stood at 98 deg. Sheltered from the breeze it would have stood three qv four degrees higher.
