sets. In the Resident Magistrate's Court, this morning, Jas. M'Allister was fined for drunkenness. The Nelson Volunteer Fire Brigade meet for practice this evening. In the list of passengers by the Electra, we see the names of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver. Robert Pollock, Esq., of Nelson, has been appointed Inspector in Bankruptcy for the Province of Marlborough. Among the advertisements that appeared in the Mail of the 16th insfc., was one that Mr. Richardson, of the Fleece Inn, considers reflected on his character. The advertisement in question escaped the supervision of the manager at the time, aud we cannot but express regret that it ever appeared. The Wellington papers announce a cheap excursion to Nelson. The s.s. Queen, will leave Wellington, on the 21st, and Nelson, on the 23rd; calling at Picton ou return passage. Fare there and back 305., children under 12 half price. Could not something of the kind be got up from Nelson to Wellington and back.
