[Before J. Poynter, Esq., R.M.] CIVIL CASES. Flowers v. Tsevr Zealand Plumbago -Company. Claim £.32 15s. Judgment was given by consent for plaintiff.' John De Carle v. Andrew Jacobsen. Claim X2S 1 6s. tid. for goods sold and delivered by J. Langford, ■whose estate the plaintiff had purchased. Mr. Pollock wished to knew if this sum was down in the balance sheet, he could find an entry of £5 only, to the name of Jacobsen. Mr: Langford said the sum was included in/another of £-2GO. Mr. Pollock said it appeared to him this sum belonged to the estate. 11 r. }Je Carle said he had paid for all the estate', and hoped Mr. Pollock's sense of justice would prevent him from opposing the payment of this sum. Mr. Pollock said his duty required him to call attention to the fact that so large a sum as £30 was not in the schedule. He should take further notice of the fact that the balance sheet was a very imperfect one. The Magistrate said it was for the Supreme Courfc to adjudicate on the balance sheet, but he would suspend judgment till further light was thrown on-the matter. "• Mr. Pollock stated that he : should draw the attention of the Judge to the imperfect nature of the balance sheet. . ..'•'•■ The Magistrate considered the case was one that ought to be settled by the authority of the Judge, and he hoped the Inspector would see to it. DRUNKENNESS. ' , ' Timothy Creed was fined 20s. and costs for this offence. A man named Campbell was charged with beingdrunk at Stoke, and in a. very excited state. He denied the charge.- - '■- ' --->■--' Mr. Thomas Harley stated .that he saw the defendunt drunk at the Turf Hotel 'yesterday. He accused several persons of robbing him, and _ witness was requested to take 'him to thclockupin hiscart.' ■ The defendant now admitted that he .was. not altogether sober. " Kobert Taylor said he was in the lockup -when the. defendant was broujjht in.
