On the 13th ult., at Parramatta, the oldest native in New South Wales, George Whittel, son of Sergeant Whittel, of the 102nd ' Regiment, or New South Wales Corps, died in his 79th year. He -was born at Camp Coye, in Sydney Harbor, the day after the foundation of the colony, iu 1788; and iu 1808 was one of the soldiers concerned in tho arrest of Governor Bligh. The oldest native born person now in existence is a resident of Parramatta, and is Mrs. Oakes, senior, the mother of Mr. George Oakes.
