On Friday last, a very fine schooner came over here under jury masts, from Pelorus Sound, where she was built for Messrs. T. Pearce and Hartmann. She is a very beautiful model, and is about 70 tons builders' measurement, with very light draught of water. As an instance of her carrying capacity, we may mention that she brought over 30,000 feet of timber and 100 house piles, with 5 ft. 9 in. draught, aft. She is to be called the Kaiuma, from the place where she was built, : and her dimensions are — 60 ft. keel, 75 ft. over all, breadth of beam 16 ft. 2 in. depth of hold 6 ft. She will he rigged as a topsail schooner, and a stem of the Aberdeen clipper style. She is at present fitting alongside of Plimmer's Wharf, and will be ready for sea in about ten days, when she will be under the command of Mr.T. Perace, Wellington. —Evening Post. The Barwon has been taken off Wright's patent slip, Melbourne, to have her hull scraped and repainted.
