At Cabool, the Sultan of Muscat was murdered by his eldest son to obtain the throne There are now three aspirants for the throne. The Coromandei has been dispatched to the Gulf for the protection of life and shipping. The Government received a telegram to the effect that Cabool is in possession of Sudar Taean by capitulation. Baron Von der Meckens, the African explorer, was murdered with half of his expedition at Bangeara, 350 miles from the Aruba Eiver. Only four Europeans escaped. On the 4th and 11th February, a terrific hurricane and thunderstorm swept over all England, unequalled in violence for the last forty years. Serious damage to the property and shipping ensued, with loss of life.
