Mysterious Gold Robbery. — The steamship Barwon, from Nelson and Hokitika, arrived on Monday, with 23,160 ozs. gold. It being then too late to land the gold, Captain Lovvrie let it remain ou board, and left the chief officer in the cabin to take charge of ifc. Yesterday morning, at 10 o'clock, when the gold was being landed, Captain Lowrie discovered that there were 1,000 ozs. short, of the abstraction of which no clue has as yet been obtained, although it is in the opinion of Captain Lowrie. that it was taken on the voyage up.
