IN compliance with a Resolution passed at a Public Meeting held at Wellington, on Friday, the 23rd February, and presided over by his Excellency the Governor, for the purpose of taking steps for the institution of a NEW ZEALAND PATRIOTIC FUND; I hereby CONVENE a PUBLIC MEETING of the inhabitants of this Province, to be held at the Provincial Hall, or FRIDAY, the 13th day of April next, at 7 o'clock in the Evening, for the purpose of ascertaining their wishes with respect to the establishment of a New Zealand Patriotic Fund in this Province, to be devoted to providing support or appropriate testimonials for the Widows and Orphans, or other surviving Relatives of those who have fallen in the New Zealand war.
