MEN RESUME WORK.

The strike among the waterside workers of Timaru came to an end on December 9, and work was resumed at once. A meeting was held in the Foresters' Hall that morning, when Mr. P. C. AVebb, president of the Federation of Labor, addressed tiho waterside workers, of whom there were 84 present. The meeting lasted from 8 o'clock till 11.40 a.m., and was orderly throughout. The result of the meeting was that the men, by an almost unanimous vote, decided to return to work, recognising that there must be discipline in an organisation like the Federation of Labor, which had not authorised the strike.
