ARBITRATION AMENDMENTS.

The Labor Representation Committee in Christchurch is taking steps to obtain the opinions of trades unions in the district in regard to the constitution of the Arbitration Court and other aspects of the industrial conciliation and arbitration scheme. Proposals concerning same are to be placed before the different unions, and they "will be asked to express opinions in regard to them.

The following resolution was carried unanimously at the conference of delegates of the New Zealand Federated Plasterers' Association of Workers in Christchtirch recently: "That we do not agree with the constitution of the Arbitration Court as at present constituted, and that'there is too much attention given to technical law points by the court, thereby overriding all other mattwi.'i
