VISIT OF SYDNEY SWIMMERS.
Three well-known Sydney swimmers—namely, T.od Solomons, H. M. Hay, and Sid. Riddington—were due to arrive in Wellington this week to compete at a series of carnivals under the auspices lof the Wellington and Canterbury 'Swimming Centres. The two former \ arf , sprinters of extreme merit (we I have previously had a taste of Solo- ! mons , quality), and the latter is proh- ! ably Sydney's finest trick and fancy 1 diver at the present time. The first j carnival in which they will compete I will be held in Wellington to-morrow I afternoon, Saturday, December 7. They j will leavA on Monday for Napier, where la carnival will be. .held, after which they will proceed to Christehureb., at- ! tending carnivals ther* , on the 16th and jlftth. The team will then return to ! Wellington, and appear at. a second I carnival in the capital city on the 21 st. The visitors should prove a big. draw, and give a. muchneeded fillip to the sport of which they are such noted exponents.
