The Reynolds Jailing
— £__. WILL MR. GARLAND BE PROSECUTED? By this date that brave anti-militar-ist, \V. Reynolds, of Christ-church, will have served his sentence of seven dayd arising out of displaying this paper's Roll of Honor in his shop window. The facts are familiar to our readers —how Captain "Wheeler did police duty and how the technicality of "no imprint" was made the excuse for "getting even ,, with Reynolds and us. Thousands of "jobs" without imprints nre published annually, and with much less of identification —the nominal reason for the requirement of imprint— than the Roll of Honor, which had the name of this printery at its head. Admitting that technically it should have borne it at the foot, still all the world knew its source, ,md under the circumstances the prosecution was petty and revengeful and the jailing outrageous. The Government which sent Mr. Reynolds to jail has doubtless ofttirnes committed offences similar in character to the one it hounded Reynolds to the cells for. Indeed, we have in our possession a, widely-distributed piece of printed matter iil:V<-iin. r .; vhe Prime Minister himself which does not bear the name of nhe. printer, and we are confidently waiting for police action in thfi matter (we don't think). This is how the card reads: — Reform League" Meeting. TOWN HALL. "The Massey Presentation." ADMIT BEARER To the Town KaU, November 19th, at 7 p.m. Issued by Guy J. Garland.. Hon. Secretary.
