VICTORY FOR CLEAN UNIONISM.

SPEECH BY ARBITRATION ORGANISER. WAIHI, November 19. Mr. Walsh, the organiser under the Arbitration Act, arirved, to-night at Arbitration Act, arrived at Waihi by the 5.30 train to-night. He was met at the station by a big crowd, including officials of the new union, all wearing favor*.

At the request of the union officials, the station platform was cleared. Mr. Walsh was escorted to a cab by a committee, where he delivered a brief address.

Mr. Walsh said the workers had put up a great fight, which was a credit to unionism, and clean, and tinder great odds. It was A victory for clean unionism. He had just visited Huntly, and affairs in connection with the formation of the new union there were progressing most satiifactorlly. Constitutional unionism was regaining it? position. Auckland had practically turned the Federation down, ©very union there was drawing out except the watersiders, end that was only a matter of time, jjje ftdriied them, in flhe hour of victory, to exercise selfcontrol. They had the sympathy of the country behind them, and if they oontinued to act in a straightforward manner they would retain the eympalih» of the workers of' the Dominion; (Ap , plause.)—"N.Z.
