"TURN THEM OUT!"
NEWCASTLE WORKERS AND I NS.W. GOVERNMENT.
At the Eight-hour Demonstration at Newcastle on November 5, after strong speeches, interspersed with cries of "Turn them out!" a resolution was adopted condemning the Government for not introducing an Eight-hour Bill. Mr. Beeby, Minister ; for Labor, defended the Government, and announced that a bill would be introduced at the earliest possible opportunity. Mr. Peter Bowling, referring to the trouble in the southern collieries over the discharge of a man by one of the companies, declared that tho Government would have to reinstate him "or the unions would, no matter what the cost.
