A Way to Protest.
FOR THOSE IN BACKBLOCKS
Sir, —Many protests have been made by the working-class in various parts of the country against the jailing of tha Waihi men. Forty-five of our class are in jail and something must) be done to have them released. We in the backblocks cannot attend large demonstrations to enter protests, an<J I would suggest something which is not new In time of a strike. Let every man and woman of our class who are for the working-class send a letter of protest each to the Prime Minister and to Comrade Parry now in jail. Twenty or thirty thousand letters to the Prime Minister would let him see that we were in earnest and must have our fellowworkers released. I am of the opinion that a move such as this would carry some weight—l am, etc.,
