KAITANGATA AWARD.
OBJECTION OVERRULED BY MR JUSTICE SIM.
DCNEDIN, September 10. The Kaitangata coal-miners award filed to-day shows that the agreement became operative on August 1, and continues till Januaty 1, 1916. Mr. Justice Sim, in a memorandum, says: "Mr. Ridd claimed to be heard on behalf of the majority of miners at' Kaitangata to show cause why the award should not be made. Only in very rare instances were persons not parties to an industrial dispute allowed to address the court, and in such cases there bad always been a duly registered union. The present was not such a case, and there was no precedent for Ridd's application."— 'N.Z. Times."
