Dear Sir, —Acting under instructions of my committee, I am directed to inform you that this hranch will take no active part in connection with your delegate' 9 address to railwaymen on the 21st inst. A meeting of the branchfor said date is impossible, far better bad you advertised same earlier. With sympathy from branch in the unfortunate circumstances which have arisen — I will remain, fraternally yours, H. C. Bishop, Seorctary. Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants of New Zealand.—Branch, Frankton Junction. July 17, 1912. Mr. W. P. Waddell . Dear Sir, —Your letter of the 18th inst. to hand. I am directed to advise you that quite recently by ballot our members decided against joining with outside labor. Our memhers are by no means favorably impressed with the methods of the N.Z.F.L. Our committee are firmly of the opinion that a meeting convened as you suggest would be but sparsely attended. —Toura truly, W. J. Westney, Branch Secretary.
