HOGG FAREWELLED. H. M. Fitzgerald completed his engagement with the Wellington Socialists on August 4. In his farewell lecture he predicted the coming of ft' large unemployed army in New Zealand within three months. W. T. Mills is giving a series of Sunday evening lectures at) the Adielphl Theatre. Robert Hogg was tendered) a largelyattended "send-off" by Wellington Socialists at their rooms on August 7. During the evening eulogistio speeches were made of the comrade's services to the Socialist movement and the Wellington party. President Brice, on behalf of the contributors, presented Mr. Hogg with an engraved travelling-bag and Mrs. Hogg with a tea service, amidst applause. The recipient feelingly responded. On the following Friday Mr. Hogg departed for Broken Hill, a number seeing the boa.t off. The anti-militarists brouglit off & good open-air meeting on Sunday afternoon week, when excellent speeches were delivered by Messrs. Farland, Msh deima and Brice, Ross presiding.
