1 feel confident that members of the Association will note with pleasure the great improvement in The Wokker, and 1 trust it will stimulate them to assist it along by sending in notes and supporting our advertisers. * * * Shearers will be pi.a*ed to sen our old friends, the Trades Union Shear Co. once more advertising in our columns. There is no need to praise the T.U. shears, as we seldom see any other brand on the shearing floors. * X » We look forward to the time when the slaughtermen will bo as anxious to secure a T.U. knife as the shearer is the shears. - * • I have forwarded to the company a sample of the knives as used by the slaughtermen and expect to have a few for trial in the works this season. Mr. Waddell, the secretary of the Canterbury Shearers' Union, has for some time been doing good work in this direction. • * The Marlborough sheepowners and shearers have entered into an agreement for shearers and shed-hands from August G, expiring same date a3 awards in other industrial districts. Same has been filed with Registrar. The list of shearing sheds will appear in an early issue, and members are again requested to assist in improving the list by sending along corrections and additions. X » * The Shearers' Union office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the secretary in attendance, from September 1. * _ * All tickets, shears, combs and cutters will be forwarded from office, and all correspondence should be addressed to M. Laracy, Queen's Chambers, P.O. Square, Wellington. Telegraphic address, Laracy, Wellington. * # * Applications for positions as organisers for the coming shearing season should be in the secretary's hands by August 15..
