THE RELIABLE PRESS

Mr. F. Freeman was at Palmerston N. the other week and spoke on Saturday and Sunday evenings. The local papers thus referred to the Saturday meeting:—

"Manawatu Daily Times," July 2 l >: "A Socialist attempted to deliver an address in the Square on Saturdaynight, but could not do so owing to a section of tho crowd interfering. The man tried time after time to speak, but was refused a hearing. At last some youths knocked him off his box and chased him away."

"Manawatu Evening Standard," July 29: "Mr. Freeman also delivered an address in tho Square on Saturday evening,- and was accorded a good hearing. In moving away, however, he was followed by a number of young men whoso conduct was anything but creditable."
