A little girl fell out of bed during the night. After her mother had picked her up and pacified her, she asked the child how she happened to fall out. The child replied: "I went to sleep too near tlie place whore I went in." A good deal of the effort of organised labor is lost on account of members who go to sleep too near the place where they went in. It isn't enough to join a trade union and keep one's name on the membership roll by paying the subscription. An activo aggressive membership is what makes a sound, successful union.
