KAITANGATA MINERS.
REPORTED NEW AGREEMENT.
Imported in the daily press that i new agreement has t>een arrived at between the Kaitangata Miners' Union registered under the Arbitration Act and tho Kaitanyata Coal and Oil O». The hewing rate lias been fixed at 2s 3d. per ton, an increase of 3d. Brushing bonls whore two men shifts are engaged, 2s. Gd. per ton; shift mon'n wages, ]ls., an inereaso of Is.; first*class shiftmen, 125., a similar increase; .shiftmen, 6d. extra all round; trackers' wages, a rise of Gd. per shift, all round up to tlie ago of 19; truck ers, 19 years or over, with live ycarV experience, 10s. Gd. a shift; firenwii, !)s. a shift, an increase of 6d.; hanksmen, 9a. per shift, an increase of la. A clause allows dip work in a mine bo be done by contract-, lenders to be .ipproved by the union exoentive. Th" ayre-eme-nt will be ratified by the Arbitration Court.
