CONDEMN CONSCRIPTION.
At a full meeting of tho Alexandra branch of the Otago Co-alminors' Union, the following motion was put and carried unanimously, several members speaking Very strongly on tho subject: "That this mooting enter a strong protest against tho compulsory clause in tho Defence Act, as it is against the best interests of a young country like the Dominion." Every member present pledged -himself to do all in his powor to have tho compulsory military training clause repealed.—JAS. NORTON, local secretary.
