Tho strike-wrecking campaign ended disastrously last night. Joseph Foster was advertised to speak on thestrike at the Academy Theatro, which was crowded. Mr. Wallnutt was chairman. The crowd whistled and sang till 8 o'clock. When the speaker appeared ringing cheers were given for tho Federation of Labor. Tho vice-chairman of the union asked if union speakers would be permitted to reply to the speaker. The chairman said that only questions would be allowed—no reply, no spoech-
es. The meeting immediately rose, again cheered the Federation, and left the lilmatro, only about 100 business people, bank managers, etc., remaining. The crowd then wont to tho Miners' U.ill, where King and Holland spoke. The strikers are. convinced that Foster's lecture was engineered by the company, :»ud is intended to pay« the wav for a visit by MiIIs.—SMITH.
