REFLECTIONS IN A MIRROR.
Whenever a maiden's footsteps pass (Near or far) a looking-glass One band goes up to her forehead fair To re-arrauge with an anxious air Her pompadour or her bangs or curls. And she loiters there. 'Tis the way of girls. Whenever a man comes face to face With his mirrored self he slacks his paco, Frowns at- his collar, with his fist Gives his tie an impatient twist. Then jams his hat to his head again And hurries on. 'Tis the way of men. —Lilian Ferguson.
