Sir, —A Levin landlord with a very pronounced bump of self-importance and a nice, polished way of saying foolish things asked Mr. Fowlds at his local meeting what tho Labor Party would do with such papers as Tttb Maortlaxp WoRKEit and men of tho Hickoy and Co. stamp, who wero "destructive of society." Mr. reply was somewhat evasive, but a minute or two earlier ho had made a rejoinder that was absolutely decisive on the point under discussion. lords had taken from tho people of the Dominion 126 million pounds, to which sum tho landlords had no moral right whatever.
