OWNERSHIP OF HOMES.
Socialism will you in tho possession of a home, be it in city or on a farm, ownership could do no more than this, and it does not do that much for millions of yon. Why. yotl chump, a majority of you have no homo. The house you live in belongs not to you, but you pay a monthly tribute for the privilege of staying there. This is n nation whore the majority aro tenants. You own no homo or land. This country is no more yours than China —you own none of it. Ia the land of your birth you are a tenant at will of some landlord. Your country! It is to smile at your credulity. You aro but children mentally, and you vote for a system that leaves you with no right to a plot of ground on which to live and work and love. Socialism will give you the absolute security of a. home and a place to work in somo industry, that you may live as well as any other citizen —and that without paying tribute to any other human. It will guarantee this to your children and your children's children, forever. Can private ownership kIo this? Is it doing it? Will it ever do it for the millions who toil that others may live in luxury without toil? Oh, if some idea could bit you hard enough to wake np the. dull and untrained mind you have I You would then help to bring in that perfected society that your children and mine might live happy, normal lives, without fear of want and without injustice to others. —"Appeal to Reason."
