UHW-fl -MOWM» IHUIiIH IT -W——aMIMM HJKURANGI MINERS' STRIKE. Trouble About a Weighbridge. The strike affecting f>o employees of the Northern Coal Co.'s mine at Hikurangi is still unsettled. Tho weighbridge, over which the dispute arose, registers only in sLones (i-llbs.). Tho men claim that this affects Hie returns of their work detrimentally. Since the manager declines a give-and-take basis, the strikers have requested a conference with the directors. This was refused, until tlie latter know if the Kedoration of Labor was behind the strikers. This the men refuse to disclose, but slate that the whole difficulty could be settled in half an hour if a conference was granted. Meantime, passive determination is the order of the day.
