WORDS FROM WAIUTA.
A threat deal of comment has appeared of late iv the, "Inn.ngahna. Times" concerning our secretary, Mark Faga.n. A certain business man. who terms himself a worker, accuses Mark of scabbing at tho time the competitive svistem of contracting was in vogue on this field, Itecauso he was the lowest tenderer. Now, I might point out that Faga.n's work on this field has been clean, and that bo has the interests of his Union at heart. No doubt the ma-nagerncnt of the Consolidated would like to see Fagatn out of office, as be is right up against them in every scheme they try that would lie detrimental to members of our Union. Wo have our optics on a man who is scabbing on our Union, and if he maintains his present attitude towards his fellow-workers, he can prepare tor a warm time. We have a nice hall in W.viuto. ;.r,d wo have splendid meetings. Tirr: Wo'BKKit is being read more freely hereof late, and I'm sure that after tho Federation cotiferoneehas s,at and matters have been adjust-id regarding agreements and ourselves, we will discover some way of helping the paper along. A good many men are going on here lately, but my advice is that miners intending to come to this field would do well to communicate with our secretary, Mark Fagtiii, doing so. A prominent member of the staff, Mick Hurley by name, has resigned his position here-SOCIALIST.
