SECOND DAY.
P. C. Webb presided. Minutes of previous day were, read and confirmed. Correspondence was received. The receipt of certain pamphlets was acknowledged with thanks. TtiK Maorti.an.) Woukku. J. Glover read the Executive's report and balance-sheet, and also the auditor's report. A number of questions w<ov<f asked and answered. On the motion of E. J. Howard and A. llossw, the Executive's report was adopted. On the motion of E. J. Howard and P. Richardson, the balance-sheet was adopted. Both report and balance-sheet were considered eminently satisfactory. Unions will lie supplied with same. Tho Waihi dispute was discussed. The Waihi Dispute. Iv the afternoon the Executive presented a report dealing with the dispute at Waihi, in which it was stated that a conference had been arranged with the Mine Owners' Association for Wednesday of following week (the earliest day possible, and that therefore delegates would be in a better position to deal further with the dispute after the conference had taken place. The report was adopted. Waihi and Reef ton Troubtes. , In connection with the troubles at Waihi and Reefton, the following resolution was carried upon tho recommendation of the Executive: — "That this conference of delegates assembled sends fraternal greetings to Waihi and Reefton comrades, and congratulates them upon their exhibition of das? solidarity, and assures them of the loyalty of the organisatioYi to them in their time of trial with opposing forces, and urges upon them to stand firm whilst tho ouestion is being dealt- with by the organisation.'' Tom Mann's Imprisonment. On the motion oT Messrs. P. H. Hiokoy and R. S.unplo, the following resolution was carried enthusiastically:— ''That this conference of the New Zealand Federation of Labor expresses its disapproval of the action of the British Government in. jailing Tom Mann for rightly calling upon the British soldiers to refrain from firing upon ibe British workmen. To Tom Maun we extend our heartiest congratulations for his continued fearless advocacy of revolutionary working-class principles. Tbe sentiments expressed by Tom Mann in the ariiele.s loading to bis arrest meet with our entire approval.
