THE PAEROA MEN.
The Waihi-Paeroa Gold Extraction lompany at Paeroa employ about 60 ten at their works. Recently a branch f the Waihi Workers' Union was formd there, after some strenuous work y Robert Hofl'ron and a few fellow'orkors. Nearly half the employees veiitually became members. At the eginning of the trouble in Waihi, oal consigned to Waihi mines was reonsigned to Paeroa Extraction Coinany. Efforts to prevent carting of this oal at Paeroa we're futile, the contraeov defying the request to cease carting he coal. The members of the Union here, however, from actions which had aken place, had every reason to bolero that they would l>o victimised in (he, near future. Their anticipations rere early realised. Robert llelfron Union steward) and several mates rcre informed that their services were 10 longer required. In the meantime, t was found out that other men were ingaged to take their places. Tho Strike Committee immediately lecided that all work at Paeroa must sease immediately. An official communitation was forthwith sent to the rorks, with the result that work eoas:d.
