KARANGAHAKE SOLID.
A special meeting of tbe Karangahake Miners' Union was called for Saturday night, May 18, to hear delegates from the Strike Committee explain the cause of tho present trouble. Mr. 11. Marshall presided over a large number of members. .Mr. MeLennan (vice-pre-sident), Smith, Opic, Clarke and Yelland fully explained the matter. At the conclusion of the meeting, the following motion was carried with but eight- dissentients: "That this meeting of tho Karangahake Minors' Fnioti heartily endorse the action of the AVailii Workers' Union in ceasing work as a protest against the formation of an Arbitration Court Union. We pledge ourselves to support the Waihi workers in any way required." The. men were very enthusiastic at the meeting. The above resolution, coming from a union which is tied up to the Arbitration Court, is a splendid testimony to the feeling of class-con-sciousness and solidarity of the workers- That in itself is sufficient refutation of the statement of the capitalistic yr.ss that "the men at Karauga-
hake did not approve of the strike in Waihi."
