The Federation of Labor Conference.
• _ The remits for the Conference of ttw Federation, te be held in Wellington, Commencing on May 23, have been forwarded to the various unions for thoir consideration. The remits themselves are for the most part of an important character, dealing with amendments te constitution and rules, more effective organisation, attitude to be adopted towards politics, finance, "Maoriland Worker," agreements, militarism, educational, strikes, and amendments to the Workers' Compensation Act and Coal Mines Act; in addition to which many other important matters are submitted for consideration. The remits as a whole show a marked advance on those of previous years, both in advanced thought and basio principle. A sign of the times is that no fewer than nine remits are submitted requesting that the Conference immediately consider the advisability of introducing certain machinery clauses in the constitution and rules which will have the effect of transforming thi Federation into an organisation moroi upon I.W.W. lines.
