Coal Mining.
HORRORS OF THE INDUSTRY.
There is hardl> a paper of plutocracy which lias not auucalcd at and denounced the strike of coal minors, both in Gre-at Britain and the United States. Instead of devoting attention to the justice of the workers' demands, or even intelligently submitting those demands for the perusal of readers, mimn tf matter are written of the possible lose to the /•mnpanies in the ©vent of the miners' requests being conceded. Probable loss to the employers —a loss, by the way, which is but a myth—is a matter of grave oflMoern to newspapordom; the loss the toilers have and will sustain is not worth mentioning or consiciering. But the workers have lost ; and lost heavily. They-have paid the toll, not in the vraj of lessened dividends, but by death. £ upended are but a few of the more gruesome mine horrors of the past 10 years:— Date. Pla-ce.
