Owing to congestion in the poorer quarters of JJu'lapost, Hungary, tho municipal government lias been spending largo sums of money in building model houses Jor workmen, there having bocn spent since 190 ft approximately £800,000, whilo 2639 lodgingsliavo been completed, 'containing from one to three rooms each; with bath, closets, etc. It is proposed to spend £600,000 moro in the same manner. These lodgings aro re.ntod at £12 to £36 per year, an almost nominal sum compared with the prices tho workmen have been compelled to pay in the past.
