Win. Murdoch (Auckland .— Wo agree' 1 with your sentiment that he who would be free must strike the first j blow. An the American poet lias expressed it, "Twice armed is he who hath his quarrel just, but thrice is ho who gels his blow in fust." We also believe t,hat tho majority of the waterside -workers of N.Z. have "tumbled" to the abuses you mention m connection with union elections, and will profit by past mistakes in the future.
