To Speakers.

We have received an artistic leaflet (ribbon sewn) from the Socialist Tarty at Melbourne, in which the following hints appeal , :—

Tlie aims and objects of this speakers' class are:—

Ist. Tho dissemination of Socialistic thought, by training speakers of both sexes to clearly expound truly topical Socialism.

2iut. Tho training of speakers as servitors- of their class, not as leaders or rulers.

3rd. The general interchange of ideas and thought, mainly with a view to the furtherance of propaganda work in. the Socialist movement.

Rejnember ibis: Don't lose your line of thought. Keep your tertipor. Don't try to got the other speaker rattled.

Don't bore your listeners with figures —they sometimes lie.

Don't wax wrath when the other speaker beats you in argument. Never try to make Socialists in a hurry.

The people who applaud and raise the roof when you get home a good point in your lecture are generally the slowest to put up any cash for your cause.

He circumspect. Never proselytise. Socialism, like good fresh air, is always timely.

Do not be afraid to -criticise any member of the. class, and try not to be hurt when you are under the X rays.

W-s wish to discover our- faults as speakers, and aak you , to help us find them. ....•-

Ridicule is ,a factor in ; logic—but it's double-edged.

Only practical Socialists count. Most all fair thinkers arc Socialist sympathigors.
