Lament dissenting. Mr. P. AYebb spoke at soir.e length regarding tho proposed linking-tip of tho Australian miners and N.Z. miners. Mr. Hyde askod a question as tiQ whether tlie N.Z.F.L. would affiliate with any other large federation in N.Z. Mr. WcJjl) said that he dopo>catod joining any body no matter how large, if that body waa not class-008.----.scjoiis, as such would be a danger t» the N.Z.F.L.
Jlr. L. Glover read out the officers of the Australian W.W. Federation, and referred scathingly to the polibieial officials who aro at the bead <j£thai, organisation.
Mr. Canham referred to the need of solidarity in the ranks.
Mr. Farlaud spoko on the matter of the result of the W.W.L.U. ballolf re cancellation of registration being given to the press by some individual unknown to the officers of the Unioo. Ho urged the need of a solid front bo» ing put to the employers.
Mr. Scmple spoke at length on th« position of the N.Z.F.L. and the meed of linking-up with Australia, and the need of controlling the whole Australasian coal supply. This would euabld better agreements to be extracted from! the capitalist class. He urged the need of a like agreement being brought about between the Waterside Workers of N.Z. and their fellow workers in Australia. Not only was Australasian unity necessary, but an international agreement should be brought about at spj;edily as possible.
